• Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry - Information on employee and employer rights and responsibilities in Minnesota, including Workers' Compensation, Labor Standards and Minnesota OSHA.
• Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development - The Workforce Center System has links to job seeker and employer services, along with other job training information, the Quarterly Census Employment and Wages data tool can also be accessed from this page. Also includes a link to the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program.
• Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB) - Minnesota Management & Budget was created in June of 2008 with the merger of the Minnesota Departments of Finance & Employee Relations. Provides services for hiring and training public employees. State job listings are searchable, and information on employee benefits is available.

  • AFSCME Council 5 - This site for the largest public employee union in Minnesota includes a legislative update and links to the current state master contract.
  • Minnesota AFL-CIO - A "state federation of labor representing over 300,000 members of over 1,000 local unions throughout Minnesota".
  • Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) - This site for the union of state employed professionals includes the contract and pay grids and other useful information.

• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Home Page - This U.S. Department of Justice site provides a variety of information on the ADA.
• Bureau of Labor Statistics - Labor and economic statistics at the national, regional, state, and metropolitan levels. Of particular interest:
  • Compensation and Working Conditions - This print magazine is now only available in an online version.
  • Current Employment Statistics - Monthly survey of payroll records providing detailed industry data on employment, hours, and earnings for states and metropolitan areas.
  • Geography Page - BLS statistics with geographic detail. The Geographic Profile of Employment and Unemployment contains data on the employed and unemployed by selected demographic and economic characteristics.
  • Injuries, Illnesses, and Fatalities - Provides data on illnesses and injuries on the job and data on worker fatalities.
  • Local Area Unemployment Statistics - Monthly labor force, employment, and unemployment data for states, metropolitan areas, and counties.
  • Monthly Labor Review - The online version of the print periodical providing a wealth of research on the labor force, the economy, employment, inflation, and more.
  • National Compensation Survey - Wage and benefit data for localities, geographic regions, and the U.S. as a whole.
• National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health - Part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NIOSH is a research agency that provides information on work-related diseases and injuries and prevention.
• National Labor Relations Board - Information about the board, as well as the text of NLRB cases & decisions.
• Public Employment and Payroll Data - Census statistics showing annual public employment and payroll by Federal, state, and local governments.
• Regional Economic Accounts -The Bureau of Economic Analysis provides local area economic data for states, counties, and metropolitan areas. Statistics include personal income and earning variables, full and part employment variables, transfer payments variables, and farm income and expenses variables.

• Economic Policy Institute - This nonpartisan think tank provides research and issue guides on topics like minimum wage, unemployment insurance, and offshoring. The JobWatch feature tracks current labor market trends.
• Employee Benefits Research Institute - This nonprofit, nonpartisan organization provides policy research and education on economic security and employee benefits. Their fact sheets are useful.
• Human Resource Codes and Laws - The Economic Research Institute has compiled links to U.S. and state employment, wage, and benefits laws.
• JobStar Salary Surveys - Although some parts are specific to California, this site links to profession-specific salary surveys, as well as more general salary surveys.
