The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty regarding the verdict in the case of Alfonso Rodriguez Jr., a convicted sex offender found guilty of kidnapping resulting in the death of Dru Sjodin.

“While a swift guilty verdict provides some closure, our thoughts and prayers are with Dru’s family and friends who continue to deal with her loss each day. If there ever was a case for which death penalty should apply, this is it."
