~ Center for Rural Policy and Development report shows JOBZ program ahead of schedule in job creation ~

Saint Paul – The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty regarding a newly released JOBZ analysis conducted by the Center for Rural Policy and Development:

“It is clear from this report that JOBZ is playing a key role in bringing more good-paying jobs to Minnesota. The JOBZ program’s ability to create more new full-time jobs and at higher wages than was originally promised by these businesses is a testament to the tremendous success story that can take place when we get excessive taxation out of the way and allow the energy and innovation of Minnesotans to go to work.

“It is particularly important that approximately two-thirds of the businesses that signed JOBZ agreements were local businesses that expanded operation through the program. JOBZ stands as a tribute to effective and visionary local leadership, resulting in real economic growth, the creation of good jobs, and a better shot at long-term prosperity.”
