She ran unsuccessfully as the Independent Republican Party endorsed candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives in the 1984 election. Her opponent, Ann H. Rest, defeated her by 60 votes so a recount occurred. The recount confirmed that Ann H. Rest had won.

She was raised in Florida. She came to Minnesota in 1964. She moved to Lady Lake, Florida in 1988.

She died of cancer at a hospital in Florida. Her funeral was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
