2005 - Governor Tim Pawlenty
Governor Pawlenty vetoed Chapter 88 on May 19, 2005. The accompanying letter acknowleded that
although he vetoed the bill, he was in favor of the "constitutional
amendment to dedicate 100% of the proceeds of the Motor Vehicle Sales
Tax to transportation needs" and that it "will go forward
notwithstanding my veto because constitutional amendments are not
subject to veto."
