Another Legislator Who Almost Served in Two Parties

Robbie LaFleur

An alert reader sent in a related "party switching" story about Mike Menning, who served in the Minnesota House and Senate as a Democrat. He subsequently ran for governor in 1986 as a Republican, but lost the endorsement to Cal Ludeman. He then ran for the Senate as a Republican, but lost to Sen. Gary DeCramer. He was *almost* a legislator who served in two parties.
