Tax Resources
When was Minnesota’s first motor vehicle registration tax imposed? What Minnesota cities have authorized a local sales tax? How does Minnesota’s personal income tax rate compare to other states? Librarians at the Legislative Library have a number of resources available that help us answer questions related to state and local taxes. Some of these sources focus on Minnesota while others provide 50-state tax information. Here are a few that we rely on for current and historical tax data:

Finally, the Minnesota Legislature’s House Research Department and the Minnesota Department of Revenue provide numerous publications and data related to specific taxes and tax policy.
