Fellow Senators and Senate staff,

The Governor has announced a 1 pm press conference tomorrow afternoon to announce additional
mitigation efforts regarding coronavirus. We will provide additional information once it is available.

In the best interest of senators, staff, and the public, beginning Monday, March 16, we are planning to
limit access to senate office suites and staff areas to the public as by appointment only. This means you
will need to badge in and out of these areas during all hours. We request appointments be limited to
no more than 2 guests in a senate office at a time (does not include staff). Larger groups may still be
accommodated in certain public conference rooms, such as 3414 or G-250, or in the general areas of
the building. Caucus conference rooms will remain for members and staff only.

At this time, conversations are on-going about managing committee agendas and meetings. These
decisions are being made based on information and advice we have received from the Minnesota
Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. We know many of you have already taken
measures to protect yourself and constituents. We encourage you to consider the advice from the CDC
and MDH as you plan your schedule.

Please reach out to us with additional questions or concerns.

Finally, a statement was released to the media from all four leaders this evening. You can read the
statement below.
