Greetings,
Senator Parry used a rare motion in the Senate to make the companion bill to my E-Pull tabs/Charities/Stadium funding bill to disappear. Vikings fans turned up the heat on him so he sent this email to people writing to him. Very misleading. My comments are in parentheses:

Thank you for your email in response to my decision to pull my bill that provides tax relief to gambling outlets like American Legions, VFWs and small town Chambers of Commerce. Senate File 702 gives charitable gambling outlets the opportunity to better serve their communities through disbursement of dollars to more youth organizations than government can. Simply put, this bill will leave more dollars in our local communities (he made this bill evaporate).

That said, Senate File 702 is not the Vikings bill. It was never intended to be (it is not the stadium bill but IT IS THE STADIUM FUNDING BILL and helps charities). My colleague, Senator Julie Rosen is the author of the Vikings Stadium bill here in the Senate. Pulling my bill does not affect the status of her Vikings bill. Under her leadership, the Vikings Stadium bill is "alive and well." You can find out more about the status of the Vikings Stadium bill by visiting: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/revisor/pages/search_status/status_detail.php?b=Senate&f=SF2391&ssn=0&y=2012

I also want to let you know that I sat down with Representative Kriesel, the House author of my bill, earlier today to clear up the confusion about the bill and my decision to remove it from one committee to find another route for it to move forward. (We talked but he never "cleared up confusion" so this is far from true)

I hope that cleared up the questions you had regarding my bill. Please don't hesitate to contact my office again in the future with any questions you may have about legislation.

Best,

Senator Parry
