Text: In response to a question posted on the Clerks and Secretaries NCSL email list, Mike Linn with the Minnesota Senate wrote:

In the MN Senate a small floral arrangement and a photo are placed on the member's desk. We have offered a moment of silence on the floor, on the next session day we meet following the death. Sessions are scheduled around any funeral services so members can attend.

Near the end of the biennial session, we adopt a Senate Resolution commemorating the lives and work of former Senators, who have died during the past two years. The list of names include any current members who died in office
