COMMISSION ON JUDICIAL SELECTION ANNOUNCES TENTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT VACANCIES -- July 13, 2009
 

Saint Paul -- The Commission on Judicial Selection today announced that applications are now being accepted for four trial court bench vacancies in the Tenth Judicial District.

The vacancies are due to the retirement of the Honorable Kenneth L. Jorgensen on January 6, 2009, the retirement of the Honorable David E. Doyscher on January 31, 2009, the death of the Honorable Douglas G. Swenson on February 1, 2009, and the upcoming retirement of the Honorable Stephen J. Askew on July 31, 2009.

The Minnesota Supreme Court certified the chambers of Judges Jorgensen, Doyscher, and Askew’s positions for the city of Anoka in Anoka County, and the chambers of Judge Swenson’s position for the city of Center City in Chisago County.

Licensed Minnesota attorneys who are residents of the Tenth Judicial District may request an application for either the Anoka County positions, the Chisago County position, or all four positions by calling John Hultquist at 651-296-0019, via e-mail at john.hultquist@state.mn.us or by writing:

All candidates for these vacancies must submit an application. Applications and letters of recommendation for all three of these positions must be submitted to the above address so they are received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009.

Applicants are asked not to contact the commission members individually, as the nine at-large members and the four district members will conduct interviews at a later date.
