GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS MILLENACKER TO SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT JUDGESHIP IN RAMSEY COUNTY -- April 22, 2010
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Robyn A. Millenacker to a Second Judicial District trial court bench vacancy in the city of St. Paul in Ramsey County. The vacancy occurred with the retirement of the Honorable Michael F. Fetsch on October 31, 2009.

Millenacker is an assistant United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota in Minneapolis, a position she has held since 1996. Previously, she was an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California in Los Angeles from 1994 to 1996, an associate lawyer with the Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro law firm in San Jose and San Diego, California from 1989 to 1994, a judicial law clerk to U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Janice Symchych in St. Paul from 1988 to 1989, a law clerk with Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro in 1987 and a law clerk with the Hennepin County Attorney’s office in Minneapolis in 1986. Millenacker earned her juris doctorate degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1988, and her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1984.

“Robyn has distinguished herself as a civil prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office,” Governor Pawlenty said. “Her diverse professional background and strong intellect will be an asset to a bench that has a high volume of complex cases.”

Millenacker is a member of the Federal, Minnesota State, and Ramsey County Bar Associations, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and has been a presenter on affirmative civil enforcement at professional conferences. She is a member and past president of the Children’s Hospital Association Guild I, Girl Scout Troop Leader, Mounds View High School Mustangs parent booster, parent volunteer at Turtle Lake Elementary School in Shoreview, active volunteer with the Parent Teacher Association, Step Family Group member with St. Odilia’s Catholic Church in Shoreview, and is an active volunteer with Incarnation Lutheran Church.

Millenacker, 48, was born in Rochester and lives in North Oaks with her husband, Michael Sharpe. They have four children, Will, 20, Kevin, 16, Samantha, 9, and Lauren, 8.
