GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS FOUR TO JOB SKILLS PARTNERSHIP BOARD -- May 19, 2003
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Peggy Ann Anderholm, Larry Mareck, Sandra Peterson and Carrie Thomas to the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board of Directors.

Anderholm, of Warroad, is the director of training and development with Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad. Anderholm is appointed as a business representative from the Governor's Workforce Development Council for a four-year term that expires on January 1, 2007.

Mareck, of Albany, is a business representative of the Carpenters Union, president of the St. Cloud Building and Construction Trades Council and a member of the executive board of the State Building and Construction Trades Council. Mareck is appointed as a labor representative from the Governor's Workforce Development Council for a four-year term that expires on January 1, 2007.

Peterson, of New Hope, is vice president of Education Minnesota, vice president of the American Federation of Teachers and vice president of Minnesota AFL-CIO. Peterson is appointed as a labor representative from the Governor's Workforce Development Council to complete a four-year term that expires on January 2, 2006.

Thomas, of St. Paul, is the director of policy research and advocacy with the JOBS NOW Coalition in St. Paul. Thomas is appointed as a representative of a non-profit organization that provides workforce development or job training services to complete a four-year term that expires on January 2, 2006.

Governor Pawlenty also appointed Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED) Commissioner Matt Kramer chairman of the Job Skills Partnership Board. Kramer is a member of the board by virtue of being commissioner of DTED.

The Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board brings together employers with specific training needs with educational or other non-profit institutions which can design programs to meet those needs. The board consists of 13 members, including seven appointed by the Governor.
