GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS TWO TO THE BOARD OF PHARMACY -- June 30, 2003
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Carleton Crawford and Vernon Kassekert to the Board of Pharmacy.

Carleton Crawford, of Minneapolis, is Project Manager and Treasurer for C Cubed Home Design Inc., in Minneapolis. He previously worked as a Designer, Drafter and Project Manager for Shea Architects Inc. Crawford received a Masters of Architecture Degree from the University of Minnesota. He is appointed as a public member of the board and will serve a four-year term ending January 1, 2007. Crawford replaces Carol Peterson on the board.

Vernon Kassekert, of White Bear Lake, has been a pharmacist for 32 years. He currently works as a Staff Pharmacist for Walgreen's. He is a member of the Drug Formulary Committee at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and is a student mentor at the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy. Kassekert received a Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota. He is appointed as a pharmacist member of the board and will serve a four-year term ending January 1, 2007. Kassekert is reappointed to his second term on the board.

The Board of Pharmacy is responsible for licensing and disciplining pharmacists. The board also inspects and licenses all pharmacies, drug wholesalers, and drug manufacturers. The board is made up of seven members appointed by the Governor.
