GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS EIGHT TO METROPOLITAN AIRPORTS COMMISSION -- September 29, 2003
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Kari Berman Litman and Ilona "Lonni" McCauley and the reappointment of Tom Foley, Coral Houle, John Lanners, Tammy McGee, Bert McKasy and Dr. John Williams to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC). The openings occurred as a result of the 2003 Legislature's redrawing of the Metropolitan Council Districts, upon which the boundaries of the eight Twin Cities MAC Districts are based.

Berman Litman, of Minnetonka, is a business and commercial litigation attorney in private practice in Edina. Berman Litman replaces Daniel Fortier, who resigned, as a resident of the new MAC District "B" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 1, 2007.

Foley, of St. Paul, is an attorney with the St. Paul law firm of Hamilton, Quigley, Twait and Foley. Foley, who has served on the MAC since February 2001, is reappointed as a resident of the new District "G" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 3, 2005.

Houle, of Bloomington, has served on numerous civic and community boards and is the former mayor of Bloomington. Houle, who has been a member of the MAC since April 2000, is reappointed as a resident of the new District "C" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 3, 2005.

Lanners, of Woodbury, is president and CEO of F.T.L. Corporation, which owns MGM Liquor Warehouse stores, president of R.P. Royalties, Inc. and is an officer and partner with Acacia Real Estate Group, which specializes in commercial real estate development. Lanners is reappointed as a resident of the new MAC District "F" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 1, 2007.

McCauley, of Coon Rapids, is the owner of Events of Distinction, executive director of the Anoka Technical College Foundation and the former mayor of Coon Rapids. McCauley replaces William Erhart as a resident of the new MAC District "E" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 3, 2005.

McGee, of Maple Grove, is vice president of finance and operations for Minneapolis Community and Technical College. McGee, who has served on the MAC since April 2003, is reappointed as a resident of the new District "A" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on

January 1, 2007.

McKasy, of Inver Grove Heights, is an attorney with Lindquist and Vennum in Minneapolis. McKasy, who has served on the MAC since June 1999, is reappointed as a resident of the new District "H" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 1, 2007.

Williams, DDS, of Minneapolis, is a dentist with a practice in North Minneapolis. Williams, who has served on the MAC since March 2002, is reappointed as a resident of the new District "D" for the duration of a four-year term that expires on January 3, 2005.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission promotes air transportation locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally by developing the Twin Cities metropolitan area as an aviation center. The commission consists of 15 members, including 13 appointed by the Governor, one appointed by the mayor of Minneapolis and one appointed by the mayor of St. Paul
