GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS TWO TO THE COUNCIL ON ASIAN-PACIFIC MINNESOTANS -- October 14, 2003
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Stephan Huh and Rungthip Langseth to the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans.

Stephan Huh, of Plymouth, is President and CEO of Leonard Parker Associates, an architecture firm in Minneapolis. He is Chairman of the Minnesota Korean Chamber of Commerce. Huh is appointed to a four-year term ending January 1, 2007. He will serve as the Council's representative from the Korean community. Huh is reappointed to a second term on the Council.

Rungthip Langseth, of Baudette, is a Certified Nursing Assistant at LakeWood Health and Care Center in Baudette. She is active in the Southeast Asian community in Lake of the Woods and Roseau Counties. Langseth is appointed to a four-year term ending January 1, 2007. She will serve as the Council's representative from the Thai community. Langseth replaces Glen Ple-Plakon on the Council.

The Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans advises the Governor and Legislature on issues pertaining to Asian-Pacific Minnesotans. The Council also advocates on issues of importance to the Asian-Pacific community in Minnesota. The Council is made up of 23 members, including 19 appointed by the Governor.
