GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS INGISON TO MSRS BOARD -- January 7, 2005

Saint Paul Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Peggy Ingison to the Minnesota State Retirement System (MSRS) Board of Directors.

Ingison, of New Brighton, is the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Finance, a position she has held since February 2004.  Ingison replaces Dan McElroy, whom Governor Pawlenty had appointed to the MSRS Board in 2003 when he was the Commissioner of Finance, as a representative of constitutional officers or appointed state officials to complete a four-year term that expires on January 1, 2007.

The Minnesota State Retirement System Board of Directors establishes rules and regulations for the administration of the State Retirement System, approves the agency budget, and handles covered employee appeals.  The board of directors consists of 11 members, including three appointed by the Governor.
