GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS SIEGEL TO EXPLORE MINNESOTA TOURISM COUNCIL -- January 21, 2005

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of David Siegel to the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council.

Siegel, of Apple Valley, is the president and chief executive officer of Hospitality Minnesota and has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. Siegel fills the final Governor-appointed position on this new council.

The Explore Minnesota Tourism Council was created by the 2004 Legislature to serve the broader interests of tourism in Minnesota by promoting activities that support, maintain, and expand the state's domestic and international travel market. The council consists of 28 members, including 23 appointed by the Governor. The director of Explore Minnesota Tourism chairs the council.
