GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS FOUR TO METROPOLITAN AIRPORTS COMMISSION -- February 28, 2005
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Sherry L. Stenerson and the reappointment of Thomas J. Foley, Robert S. Mars, Jr. and Dr. John Williams, DDS, to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC). All four are appointed to four-year terms that expire on January 5, 2009.

Foley, of St. Paul, is president of The Foley Law Group in St. Paul and a founding member of PACE/MN, a governmental affairs practice in St. Paul and Washington, DC. Foley, who has been a member of the MAC since 2001, is reappointed as a resident of MAC District G.

Mars, of Duluth, is chairman of W.P. and R.S. Mars Company, Conveyor Belt Service, Inc., and Northstar Aerospace, Inc. Mars, who has been a member of the MAC since 2001, is reappointed as a representative of intermediate airports systems.

Stenerson, of Arden Hills, is a gourmet food and wine buyer for Marshall Fields in Minneapolis, a division of May Corporation. She is also a judge advocate holding the rank of Captain with the U.S. Army Reserve. Stenerson replaces Ilona McCauley as a resident of MAC District E.

Williams, of Minneapolis, is a self-employed dentist in North Minneapolis and holds a private pilot's license. Williams, who has been a member of the MAC since 2002, is reappointed as a resident of MAC District D.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission promotes air transportation locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally by developing the Twin Cities metropolitan area as an aviation center. The commission consists of 15 members, including 13 appointed by the Governor, one appointed by the mayor of Minneapolis and one appointed by the mayor of St. Paul.
