GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS TWO TO PERA BOARD -- February 28, 2005

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Don Rambow and the reappointment of Dennis C. Hegberg to the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) Board of Trustees. Both are appointed to four-year terms that expire on January 5, 2009.

Hegberg, of Forest Lake, has served for 14 years on the Washington County Board of Commissioners. He has over 30 years of experience in banking and finance and will begin a new position with Frandsen Financial in Forest Lake this spring. Hegberg, who has been a member of the PERA Board since 2001, is reappointed as a representative of counties.

Rambow, of Maple Grove, is the finance director for the city of White Bear Lake and has 25 years of experience in municipal financial management. He is also a member of the White Bear Lake Fire Relief Pension Association and the State Auditor's Firefighter Relief Association Working Group. Rambow replaces Terri Heaton on the PERA Board as a representative of cities.

The Public Employees Retirement Association Board of Trustees manages the fund that provides retirement, survivor and disability benefits for public employees of county and local government. The board consists of 11 members, including five appointed by the Governor.
