GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS FIVE TO BOARD OF ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING, LAND SURVEYING, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE, GEOSCIENCE AND INTERIOR DESIGN -- March 1, 2005
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Stephanie A. Ball, Diane Johnson, and Mary West, and the reappointment of Duane Blanck, Rick Breezee, Mary F. Ives, Rachelle Schoessler Lynn and Jerome Allen Ritter to the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design. All eight are appointed to four-year terms that expire on January 5, 2009.

Ball, of Duluth, is an attorney with the law firm of Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith and Frederick in Duluth, practicing primarily in civil litigation. Ball replaces Daniel Ballentine as a public member.

Blanck, of Nisswa, is a highway engineer with the Crow Wing County Highway Department. Blanck, who has been a member of the board since 2001, is reappointed as a representative of engineers.

Breezee, of Detroit Lakes, is a building official with the Metropolitan Airports Commission in Minneapolis and has been a building codes instructor at a number of colleges. Breezee, who has been a member of the board since 2001, is reappointed as a public member.

Ives, of Grand Rapids, owns and manages a number of hotels and restaurants in and around Minnesota. She holds a real estate license and has experience in residential and commercial development. Ives, who has been a member of the board since 2003, is reappointed as a public member.

Johnson, of Cambridge, is the financial controller with Diversified Dynamics in Blaine. Johnson replaces Jean Miller as a public member.

Ritter, of Minneapolis, is vice president of Leo A. Daly Company in Minneapolis. He is a registered architect in Minnesota and 37 other jurisdictions and an active member of the American Institute of Architects Minnesota. Ritter, who has been a member of the board since 2001, is reappointed as a representative of architects.

Schoessler Lynn, of Minneapolis, is a certified interior designer and a partner with LHB, Inc. in Minneapolis. She is a past president of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Schoessler Lynn, who has been a member of the board since 2001, is reappointed as a representative of certified interior designers.

West, of Brooklyn Center, is a soil scientist with Carver County Environmental Services. She is a licensed professional soil scientist in Minnesota and on the American Registry of Certified Professionals in Agronomy, Crops, and Soils. West replaces Dawn Tracy as a representative of geoscientists.

The Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design licenses and regulates architects, engineers, land surveyors, landscape architects, geoscientists and certifies interior designers. The board consists of 21 members appointed by the Governor.
