GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS THREE TO THE MINNESOTA COMMISSION SERVING DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING PEOPLE -- April 14, 2005
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Cuong Nguyen, Peter Rezmerski, and Beth Schultz to the Minnesota Commission Serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing People (MCDHH).

Cuong Nguyen, of Fridley, is a Graphic Designer for Presswrite Printing & Design, Inc. in Minneapolis. He previously served as Crafts Director for the Courage North Camp in Lake George, Minnesota. Nguyen is appointed to an at-large seat on the Commission and will serve a term which ends January 1, 2007. He fills the seat formerly held by DeAnna Sweeney.

Peter (P.J.) Rezmerski, of St. Peter, is the Kitchen Manager and Head Chef at the Whiskey River Emporium restaurant. He is appointed to the Commission seat for a representative of the Southwest Advisory Council and will serve a term which ends January 1, 2007. He fills the seat formerly held by Nancy Ann Johnston.

Beth Schultz, of Hawick, is employed by Communication Services for the Deaf. She is a certified American Sign Language Interpreter. Schultz is appointed to the Commission seat for a representative of the East Central Advisory Council and will serve a term which ends January 2, 2006. She fills the seat formerly held by Sharon Rosen.

The Minnesota Commission Serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing People (MCDHH) serves as the principal state agency advocating on behalf of deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing Minnesotans and working to ensure they have equal access to the services, programs, and opportunities available to others. The Commission is made up of 15 members appointed by the Governor.
