GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS SCHLIEMAN TO THE RURAL HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE -- May 26, 2005
 

Saint Paul - Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Lavonne Schlieman to the Rural Health Advisory Committee.  

Lavonne Schlieman, of Holloway, served as a Guardian ad Litem for Minnesota's Eighth Judicial District from 1999 to 2003.  She was a parent mentor for Swift County Youth Programs and Swift County Human Services from 1993 to 1999.  Schlieman, who is retired, currently volunteers at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar and at Appleton Nursing Home in Appleton.  She is appointed as a Consumer Member of the Committee and will serve a term ending January 7, 2008.  Schlieman replaces Susan Williams on the Committee. 

The Rural Health Advisory Committee advises the Commissioner of Health and other state agencies on rural health issues.  It consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor.
