GOVERNOR PAWLENTY ANNOUNCES ROCHESTER HIGHER EDUCATION COMMITTEE APPLICATION PROCESS -- June 2, 2005
 

Saint Paul - Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the process that he will use to appoint members to the Rochester Higher Education Development Committee. 

The Committee is established in May 2005 to research and make recommendations to the Governor and Legislature on the creation of post-secondary educational programs or institutions in the Rochester area. 

The Governor will appoint all 11 members of the Committee, including: 
- One member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees;
- One member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents;
- Six persons from the Rochester area representing business, health and medical services, and technology;
- The Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Finance;
- One person who by training or experience has special expertise in postsecondary finance and planning; and
- One person who by training or experience has special expertise in postsecondary academic planning and programming.

All applicants who wish to be considered must submit their materials so they are received by the Governor's office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2005.  Applicants should also indicate which of the eleven Committee positions they are applying for.  All interested individuals are encouraged to apply.
