GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS ROWLAND TO THE MINNESOTA HIGHER EDUCATION FACILITIES AUTHORITY -- June 30, 2005

Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of David D. Rowland to the Minnesota Higher Education Facilities Authority.

David D. Rowland, of Eden Prairie, currently serves as Senior Vice President and Director of Fixed Income Investments for the St. Paul Travelers Companies, Inc., in St. Paul.  Prior to joining St. Paul Travelers in 1996, he served as a Vice President in the Public Finance Department of Piper Jaffray, Inc., in Minneapolis.  From 1987 to 1992, Rowland also served as an Associate Vice President in the Public Finance Department of Dain Bosworth, Inc., in Minneapolis.

Rowland received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, and a M.M. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.  He is appointed as a member of the Authority for a four-year term ending January 5, 2009.  Rowland was first appointed to the Authority in 2001.

The Minnesota Higher Education Facilities Authority assists Minnesota nonprofit institutions of higher education by issuing tax-exempt revenue bonds.  These funds are used to finance construction projects, renovate existing buildings, or purchase equipment.  The authority's board is made up of ten members, including eight appointed by the Governor.
