GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS MUNSON TO THE BOARD OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS -- June 30, 2005

Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Michael J. Munson to the Board of School Administrators.

Michael J. Munson, of Bemidji, has been a Minnesota classroom teacher since 1984.  He currently serves as a classroom teacher for TrekNorth High School, a charter school in Bemidji.  Munson is on a leave of absence as an advanced placement teacher for Bemidji High School.  He is a current member of the Minnesota Advanced Placement Advisory Council and is an Advanced Placement Psychology Exam Reader for the College Board.  Munson is appointed to the Board position for a classroom teacher and will serve a term which ends January 1, 2007.  He fills the vacant Board seat formerly held by Julie Jagusch.

The Board of School Administrators is responsible for (1) the licensing of school administrators; (2) the approval of higher education programs and continuing education courses for school administrators; and (3) enforcement of the code of ethics for school administrators.  The board is made up of ten members appointed by the Governor.
