GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS HEGBERG AND RAMBOW TO PERA BOARD -- January 22, 2009
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Dennis C. Hegberg and Donald F. Rambow to the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) Board of Trustees. Both are appointed to four-year terms that expire on January 7, 2013.

Hegberg, of Forest Lake, is a member and past chair of the Washington County Board of Commissioners. He has been a county commissioner from District 1 for 18 years, and serves on the Washington County Finance Committee. He chairs the Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust, is a member of the Association of Minnesota Counties Board of Directors, Minnesota Association of Governments Investing for Counties. His professional background includes over 30 years of years experience in banking and finance, currently as a business development officer with Frandsen Bank and Trust. He has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Mankato State University. Hegberg, who has been a member of the PERA Board since 2001, is reappointed as a representative of counties.

Rambow, of Maple Grove, is the city of White Bear Lake finance director, a position he has held since 1994. He has over 25 years of experience in municipal finance management, serves on the White Bear Lake Fire Department Pension Relief Association, the Minnesota as well as National Government Finance Officers Association, Association of Metropolitan Municipalities Revenue Task Force, Ramsey County Investment Policy Review Group, and was a member of the State Auditors Fire Relief Association Working Group. Rambow holds a mini-MBA for government managers from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, and a bachelor of science degree in finance from Mankato State University. Rambow, who has been a member of the PERA Board since 2005, is reappointed as a representative of cities.

The Public Employees Retirement Association Board of Trustees manages the fund that provides retirement, survivor and disability benefits for public employees of county and local government. The board consists of 11 members, including five appointed by the Governor.
