GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS PABST AND REID TO BOARD OF OPTOMETRY -- March 10, 2009
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Dr. Roger Pabst and Marlene Reid to the Minnesota Board of Optometry. Both are reappointed to four-year terms that expire January 7, 2013.

Pabst, of Redwood Falls, is an optometrist practicing in Redwood Falls and Windom. He has been a Minnesota licensed optometrist since 1975. Pabst served as Vision USA Chair for the American Optometric Association from 2002 to 2005 and was named Vision USA Doctor of the Year for 2003-2004. He is active in his local Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. Pabst received a bachelor of arts degree in biology and chemistry education from Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota and a doctor of optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He is appointed as an optometrist member of the board.

Reid, of St. Paul, is a retired health care and media professional. She serves on the board of directors for the Human Life Alliance and is a member of the National Association of Clinical Pathologists. Reid previously served as a member of the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy and is appointed to her second term as a public member on the Board of Optometry.

The Board of Optometry is responsible for licensing and disciplining optometrists. The Board is made up of seven members appointed by the Governor.
