Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Greg McCullough to the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board.

McCullough, of Edina, is senior director of marketing with The Opus Group, where he leads the company’s marketing and communications across the country. Previously, he held marketing and public relations leadership positions with the BT Group and Mosaic. McCullough began his career as a newspaper reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Washington Post Company. McCullough earned his MBA from the University of Minnesota, and his master of science as well as his bachelor of arts degrees from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

McCullough has been a guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas, a coach with the Edina Soccer Association, a manager of United Way corporate campaigns, and a member of the Northwestern University Alumni Admissions Council. McCullough replaces Sven Wehrwein on the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board for a four-year term that expires on January 7, 2013.

The Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board administers programs for campaign finance disclosure for state candidates, economic interest disclosure for state and local officials, lobbyist registration and disclosure, and public subsidy of state candidates and political party committees. The board consists of six members appointed by the Governor, not more than three of whom may support the same political party.
