GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS HARRISON TO GREAT LAKES PROTECTION FUND BOARD OF DIRECTORS -- July 23, 2009
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Scott Harrison to the Great Lakes Protection Fund Board of Directors.

Harrison, of Lutsen, has been the owner and operator of Lutsen Resort since 1988. He has been a faculty member in the business department of the University of Minnesota – Duluth, served as president of Frontier Financial Consulting Services, Inc,. in Duluth, and a member of the Northern Magnetic Resonance Imaging Board of Directors. Harrison holds a master of business administration degree from the Cornell Graduate School of Business in Ithaca, New York, and a bachelor of arts degree from Carleton College in Northfield. Harrison, who has been a member of the Great Lakes Protection Fund Board of Directors since 2003, and chairs its finance committee, is reappointed to another two-year term that expires on September 1, 2011.

The Great Lakes Protection Fund is a private, nonprofit corporation formed in 1989 by the Governors of the Great Lakes States. It is a permanent environmental endowment that supports collaborative actions to improve the health of the Great Lakes ecosystem. The Great Lakes Protection Fund Board of Directors is comprised of two governor appointed representatives from each member state. The Board of Directors meets quarterly and governs the Fund's operation.
