GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS JUHLKE TO MERIT SYSTEM COUNCIL -- April 27, 2010
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of David P. Juhlke to the Merit System Council.

Juhlke, of Austin, is vice president of human resources with Hormel Foods Corporation in Austin. He has held a variety of positions with Hormel throughout his 27 years with the company, including industrial engineer, compensation analyst, supervisor of compensation, human resources manager, and director of human resources for Jennie-O Turkey Store in Willmar (which is a subsidiary of Hormel Corporation). Juhlke earned his bachelor of science degree in industrial technology and manufacturing engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. Juhlke replaces Jimmiee Gaulden on the Merit System Council to complete a three-year term that expires on January 3, 2011.

The Merit System Council hears personnel appeals, sets policy for administration of examinations, reviews classification and compensation plans and proposed rule changes. The council consists of three members appointed by the Governor.
