GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS ADOLPHSON AND PLECHASH TO ARTS EDUCATION BOARD -- June 25, 2010
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Peter Adolphson and Alex Plechash to the Board of the Perpich Center for Arts Education. Both are reappointed to four-year terms that expire on January 6, 2014.

Adolphson, of Minnetonka, is the director of production and a program manager with ION Corporation, a veteran and minority-owned small business by Wendell Maddox that provides a variety of scientific, engineering, and manufacturing services to its clientele in the public and private sector. He was a member of Minnesota House of Representatives, and served in the United States Naval Reserve, retiring as a commander. Adolphson earned his master of business administration degree in finance from National University in San Diego, and his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Adolphson has been a member of the Board of the Perpich Center for Arts Education since 2005.

Plechash, of Wayzata, is vice president and a division manager with FOLIO Institutional, a private, web-based, online brokerage platform and custodian for the financial advisory market. He has nearly 30 years of experience in management with a number of Fortune 500 companies. Previously, Pleshash was a fighter pilot with the United States Marine Corps. Plechash earned his master of business administration degree in finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and his bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering and physics from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Plechash has been a member of the Board of the Perpich Center for Arts Education since 2006, and chairs its Finance Committee.

The Perpich Center for Arts Education, located in Golden Valley, is home to the Arts High School and serves 11th and 12th grade students who come from throughout Minnesota. The Center includes the Research, Assessment, and Curriculum Center; the Professional Development Institute, and the Learning Resource Center, all serving teachers and schools across the entire State of Minnesota. The Center is governed by a board of 15 members appointed by the Governor.
