GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS McCLUNG TO METROPOLITAN AIRPORTS COMMISSION -- July 12, 2010
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of John D. McClung to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC).

McClung, of Mendota Heights, is a retired businessman whose background includes serving as chairman and CEO of Moniterm Corporation in Minnetonka, vice president of operations and general manager of the automotive battery division of Gould Inc/GNB Inc. in Mendota Heights, and accounting supervisor with Inland Steel Company in East Chicago, Indiana. McClung earned his master of business administration degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, and his bachelor of arts degree from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. An instrument-rated private pilot, McClung chairs the Audit Committee of the Ithaca College Board of Trustees, and has served on the boards of directors of Rollouts, Inc., Moniterm Corporation, and Electrosource. McClung replaces John McDonald on the MAC as a member residing in District G to complete a four-year term that expires on January 7, 2013.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission promotes air transportation locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally by developing the Twin Cities metropolitan area as an aviation center. The commission consists of 15 members, including 13 appointed by the Governor, one appointed by the mayor of Minneapolis, and one appointed by the mayor of St. Paul.
