GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS WYMORE TO BOARD OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS -- September 8, 2010

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Steven R. Wymore to the Board of School Administrators.

Wymore, of Baudette, is the superintendent of the Lake of the Woods Public Schools, a position he has held since 2007. Previously, he was the superintendent/K-4 principal with the Willow River Schools, and superintendent/K-12 principal with the Herman-Norcross School District. He also held teaching positions with the Warroad, Grygla-Gatzke, Argyle, and Tolna (North Dakota) Public Schools. Wymore earned his sixth year certificate from St. Cloud State University, his master of science degree in educational administration from Bemidji State University, and his bachelor of science degree from Mayville State College in Mayville, North Dakota. He has been an active member in the communities where he has lived, including serving on the Warroad City Council, and a member of the local Jaycees, Lions Clubs, and his church. Wymore replaces Mark Wolak on the Board of School Administrators as a representative of school superintendent, and is appointed to complete a four-year term that expires on January 6, 2014.

The Board of School Administrators is responsible for the licensing of school administrators; the approval of higher education programs and continuing education courses for school administrators; and the enforcement of the code of ethics for school administrators. The board is made up of 10 members appointed by the Governor.
