GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS SWENSON TO CAMPAIGN FINANCE AND PUBLIC DISCLOSURE BOARD -- December 15, 2010

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of David P. Swenson to the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board.

Swenson, of Minneapolis, is an attorney and partner with the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi in Minneapolis, where he practices in the intellectual property litigation as well as the trademark and advertising disputes groups. Swenson earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, his master’s degree in public affairs from the U of M, and his bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Swenson replaces Felicia Boyd on the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board, and is appointed to complete a four-year term that expires on January 2, 2012.

The Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board administers programs for campaign finance disclosure for state candidates, economic interest disclosure for state and local officials, lobbyist registration and disclosure, and public subsidy of state candidates and political party committees. The board consists of six members appointed by the Governor, not more than three of whom may support the same political party.
