GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS FIVE TO BOARD OF ELECTRICITY -- December 20, 2010
 

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of James D. Freichels, William M. Hoskins, Kim M. Huxford, John L. McConnell, and Anthony C. Toft to the Board of Electricity. All five are reappointed three-year terms that expire on December 31, 2013.

Freichels, of Mounds View, is the president of Dell-Comm, Inc. Freichels, who has been a member of the Board of Electricity since 2007, is reappointed to a position for a power limited technician.

Hoskins, of Caledonia, is a master electrician with Hoskins Electric, Inc. Hoskins, who has been a member of the Board of Electricity since 2008, is reappointed to a position for a master electrician.

Huxford, of Waseca, is the operations division manager with Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric. Huxford, who has been a member of the Board of Electricity since 2007, is reappointed to a position for a representative of rural electrical suppliers.

McConnell, of Emily, is retired after 35 years as a building inspector with the city of Minneapolis. McConnell, who has been a member of the Board of Electricity since 2007, is reappointed to a public member position.

Toft, of Byron, has been a journeyman electrician in southeastern Minnesota for more than 25 years. Toft, who has been a member of the Board of Electricity since 2007, is reappointed to a position for a journeyman electrician.

The Board of Electricity adopts the most current edition of the National Electrical Code and any amendments thereto, reviews requests for final interpretations and issue final interpretations, adopts rules that regulate the licensure or registration of electrical businesses, electrical contractors, master electricians, journeyman electricians, Class A installer, Class B installer, power limited technicians, and other persons who perform electrical work, and adopts rules that regulate continuing education for licensed or registered individuals. The board consists of 12 members, including the Commissioner of Labor and Industry, and 11 members appointed by the Governor.
