The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1871 lists his middle initial as H. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1870 lists his middle initial as C. Toensing lists them as separate people but all of their biographical data matches. In addition Minnesota in Three Centuries (p. 42) confirms that W.C. Young was elected to represent the 16th District in the Minnesota Senate the year after he served in the Minnesota House.
