Special Legislative Concerns: health and welfare, energy, metro and urban affairs, economic development.
She had been a member of the Republican Party but switched to the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party in 1973. (Minnesota History, Summer 2008, p. 67.)
She became the first female DFL senator elected to serve in the Minnesota State Senate.
She ran unsuccessfully as the Democratic-Farmer-Labor endosed candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives in the 1974 election.
In 1980, she lost her bid for reelection to the Senate.
She ran unsuccessfuly for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor endorsement for Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota with Mike Hatch as Governor in the 1990 election.
