GENERAL NOTES

He moved to Clearwater County, Minnesota in 1900 as a school teacher and taught for one year in the Bagley School.

"In 1901 he established a homestead and farmed until 1906. From 1906 until 1909 he was a grain buyer for the Kalispell Flour Mill Company in Kalispell, Montana. He returned to Bagley in 1909." (Obituary, Farmer's Independent, December 18, 1969)

He was a member of the Minnesota Society of Mayflower Descendants.

He is one of the longest serving legislators in Minnesota.

"[He] was deeply interested in the cooperative movement and was president of the Garden Valley Telephone Company and The Farmers Publishing Company at the time of his death. (The Genealogical Register of the Family of Alfred Day (1794-1886, 1972)

He died at Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, Minnesota. His funeral was held at the First Congregational Church in Bagely, Minnesota. He was buried in the Bagley Cemetery.
