The Fifteenth Legislature of Minnesota: Biographical Sketches, St. Paul: Press Printing Company, 1873 lists Douglas as his city of residence. Toensing lists New Trier.

He came to Minnesota in 1860 and settled in Scott County. He moved to Dakota County, Minnesota in 1864. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1874 says he came to Minnesota in 1869.

His party affiliation was provided by The Fifteenth Legislature of Minnesota, 1873.
