GENERAL NOTES

He went to Wisconsin in 1856 and began scouting business locations in Minnesota in July. He finalized his land purchase in Red Wing, Minnesota in October 1856. He returned to Morrisville, New York and in April 1857 set out for Red Wing. He moved his family to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1858.

He was disabled, in 1870, after he left office. With a shingle saw he accidently cut off about half of the length of his left hand fingers and thumb.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Red Wing, Minnesota.
