GENERAL NOTES
He lived in Lafayette, Minnesota in the early 1920s. He moved to Appleton, Minnesota in 1923. He then moved to Morris, Minnesota in November 1936.
"It was his legislative commission that recommended to the 1959 Legislature the establishment of a four-year liberal arts program on the Morris campus. The Senator was one of the early, most active and most devoted supporters for the establishment of the University of Minnesota at Morris, and he worked closely with members of the West Central Educational Development Association and the University people. Out of respect for the work he did for the establishment of the University of Minnesota at Morris, on July 1, 1966 he was honored for his long and devoted service in the cause of higher education by having the former food service building name 'Behmler Hall'".
