He moved to Bemidji, Minnesota in 1907. He moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1951.

He was a member of the Bemidji, Minnesota Masonic Lodge.

He died in the Northern Pacific Railroad Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
