Toensing, and the Minnesota Journal of the House, January 16, 1919 list his birth year as 1865. The Minnesota Legislative Manuals, 1899, 1909, and 1911 list 1866.

He came to Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 17, 1871.

"He was a Republican and was always active in party organization" (Star Tribune, January 14, 1919).

He died in Minneapolis, Minnesota of Bronchial-Pneumonia, according to his obituary in the Star Tribune. He is interred in Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
