He was a member of the Masons. He belonged to the Blue Lodge, Chapter, Commandery, Minneapolis Consistory No. 2, and the Zurah Temple in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Ancient Order of United Workmen (A.O.U.W.).

His death date was provided by a researcher from the Minnesota Historical Society.
