GENERAL NOTES

Hans is not recorded in Toensing. Toensing lists his first name as Ole (his brother). The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1883 lists H. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1881, lists H. and O. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1877, and Biographical Sketches of the Officers of the State Government of Minnesota and of the 19th Minnesota State Legislature by C.L. Hall, 1877 list O.

This led to some confusion about the two brothers. A family member helped to make the distinction.

He came to Minnesota in 1861 (1920 Census).

His family's homestead was in Goodhue county, West of Kenyon.
