Environmental Innovations Advisory Council

Function:

The advisory council was created to make recommendations to the PCA on policy, programs, and legislation in pollution prevention, waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and resource conservation. The council was to focus on developing and implementing innovative programs that improve Minnesota's environment by emphasizing conservation approaches to preventing waste and pollution and emphasizing partnerships of government, citizens, institutions, and business to develop and implement these programs.

History:

In the 2005 special session, the duties of the Solid Waste Management Advisory Council and the Prevention, Reduction, and Recycling Advisory Councils were transferred to the Environmental Innovations Advisory Council. The advisory council was set to expire June 30, 2009.

Membership:

Membership of the council was to be at least nine and up to twenty-four members, which were broadly representative of the geographic areas and interests of the state. The members were to be appointed by the Pollution Control Agency.
