Higher Education Advisory Council

Function: Advise the Minnesota Higher Education Coordinating Board.
History: Created in 1971. The director of vocational technical education added in 1984. Expires 30 June 1993 (per 1992 Minn. Stat. table 3).

This Council appears to have been reinstated as part of the 1995 Higher Education Omnibus bill (1995 Minn. Laws Chap. 212 Art. 3 Sec. 12). The bill provided for a Higher Education Advisory Council of nine members.
Membership: 9 members (president of University of Minnesota, chancellor of State University Board, chancellor of state board for community colleges, state director of vocational technical education, commissioner of education, president of the Minnesota Private College Council, and representative from the Association of Private Post-Secondary Schools); terms not specified (?); compensation not specified.; 7 members per Shepard, 1993.
