Advisory Council on the Minnesota Academy for the Deaf and the Blind
Function: Advise the Minnesota State Board of Education concerning control, management, and administration of the state academies for the deaf and blind.
Separate councils for the academies for the deaf and blind were created in 1976. The membership was increased from 7 to 8 in 1978, and representatives of the schools were added as members. In 1983 both groups were renamed task forces and their existence made permissive.
In 1985 the groups were combined and changed back to an advisory council that would not expire.
