Pipeline Safety Advisory Council

Active dates:1987-1998
Function: Advises the Minnesota commissioner of public safety, the director of the Minnesota Office of Pipeline Safety, and other Minnesota officials on matters relating to pipeline safety. Advises the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board concerning implementation of pipeline routing laws.
Membership: 9 members (1 member from hazardous liquid pipeline industry, 1 from gas pipeline industry, 1 from personnel who design or construct pipelines, 3 state or local government employees, and 3 public members); appointed by commissioner of public safety; terms governed by Minn. Stat. 15.075; compensation governed by Minn. Stat. 15.075.
